FRESH FROM WINNING their first senior and provincial titles over the past few weeks, Mourneabbey are through to the final four of the All-Ireland senior ladies club football championship after an easy win over Parnell’s in Ruislip today.
Though the home team had slightly the better of the early exchanges, a Laura Fitzgerald goal on nine minutes put the Cork side into a 1-2 to 0-2 lead, one from which they never looked back.

Catherine Coakley added a second four minutes from half-time with Ciara O’Sullivan adding a third in injury time to give Mourneabbey at 3-7 to 0-7 lead at the break.
In a blistering restart, all three first half goal-scorers had added a second goal before the second half was six minutes old with Mourneabbey ran out comfortable 19 point winners to book their semi-final spot.

Elsewhere, two goals from Andrea Murphy was enough to see Castleisland Desmonds into the All-Ireland intermediate ladies club football championship.
The Kerry side ran out 2-14 to 2-6 winners over last year’s JFC runners-up Dunedin Connolly’s in Edinburgh.
While in the junior quarter-final in Maastricht, Murroe-Boher of Limerick beat Belgium 5-16 to 2-6.
